Alcohol, produced by Alcohol Soft, creates a high–quality CD copy. The program is easy to use and has a simple installation and setup process. Alcohol is a favorite for gamers because the decryption controls are simple to operate, enabling you to make easy backups of your copy–protected games.
Alcohol 120% does not work with Windows Vista.
This software contains the features you’ll need to successfully produce a high–quality CD copy. However, Alcohol lacks a few of the customization options offered by leading competitors, including the ability to delete silence between tracks and to fade songs in and out. Another convenient feature missing in this product is the ability to backup data. With the addition of these features, Alcohol would rank much higher.
Alcohol is relatively easy to use. You insert the CD to be copied, allow it to be ripped to your hard drive, insert the blank disc and the software automatically makes the copy. Decrypting copy-protected discs is a simple task with Alcohol. This product has more decryption power than most copy software.
Although making the copy is an easy process, setting up to copy just part of a disk is not as convenient. Alcohol doesn’t have a drag and drop feature so you cannot select individual tracks to copy from the original CD. Each song on the original CD is directly burned to the copied CD, whether you want them all or not.
Alcohol installation and setup process was error–free; we had no problems.
Alcohol produced a high–quality CD copy with no distinction between the original CD and the copy. There was no skipping of individual tracks and the audio quality of the copied CD was excellent.
The help documentation was useful, but occasionally difficult to follow, slowing our ability to find the information we needed.
Overall, Alcohol is a very good CD burning product which produces a quality CD copy. If you desire to copy only CDs, this product is an excellent choice.
